CompsPilot Launch Competition — Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 23 July 2026

These terms and conditions (the "Terms") govern the CompsPilot Launch Competition (the "Promotion"). By entering the Promotion you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Please note: unlike the third-party competitions listed on the CompsPilot platform (which are covered by our Competition Disclaimer), this Promotion is organised and run by us. These Terms apply to this Promotion only.

1. The Promoter

The Promoter is Ginger Squid Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17259111, with registered office at 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). You can contact us about the Promotion at support@compspilot.co.uk.

2. The Promotion

The Promotion is a free prize draw to celebrate the launch of CompsPilot. No purchase is necessary. Entry is free: creating a CompsPilot account is free and no payment card is required. Internet access and an email address are required to enter.

3. Entry period

The Promotion opens at 00:01 (UK time) on 23 July 2026 and closes at 23:59 (UK time) on 31 August 2026 (the "Closing Date"). Entries received outside the entry period will not be accepted.

4. Eligibility

The Promotion is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over, except:

  • employees, officers and contractors of Ginger Squid Ltd;
  • members of their immediate families (spouse or partner, parents, children and siblings) or households; and
  • anyone otherwise professionally connected with the Promotion.

Both new and existing CompsPilot account holders may enter. One entry per person. Entries made through agents or third parties, bulk entries, and entries generated by automated means are invalid. If you enter or attempt to enter using more than one account, all of your entries will be invalid.

5. How to enter

To enter, during the entry period:

  • visit the Promotion page at compspilot.co.uk/launch;
  • correctly answer the competition question, which is based on the CompsPilot demo video; and
  • if you do not already have a CompsPilot account: create a free account — your entry is then recorded automatically; or
  • if you already have a CompsPilot account: sign in and answer the question — your entry is then recorded automatically.

There is no limit on the number of attempts at the competition question. No further action is required to complete an entry. When your entry is recorded you will see an on-screen confirmation; if you do not, please contact us at support@compspilot.co.uk before the Closing Date. We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed or not recorded due to technical failures or other causes outside our reasonable control, provided we have used reasonable care and skill.

6. Prizes

Grand Prize (1 winner):a £100 Amazon.co.uk gift card, delivered by email. Amazon gift cards are subject to Amazon's own gift card terms and conditions. Amazon is not a sponsor of, and is not otherwise associated with, this Promotion.

Runner-up prizes (25 winners):12 months of the CompsPilot Plus subscription plan, applied to the winner's CompsPilot account at no charge. Each runner-up prize is worth £36, based on the standard annual price of CompsPilot Plus at the start of the Promotion. The total prize fund is £1,000.

How the runner-up prize is applied depends on the winner's plan at the time of the draw:

  • Free plan:12 months of Plus is applied to the winner's account at no charge. No payment card is required, no charge will be taken automatically at any point, and the account reverts to the Free plan at the end of the 12 months unless the winner independently chooses a paid plan.
  • Plus plan:the winner's subscription is extended by 12 months, with no subscription charge during that extension period.
  • Pro plan:the winner receives £36 of CompsPilot account credit, applied automatically against future subscription payments. The account credit does not expire while the winner's CompsPilot account remains open. It may be used only against CompsPilot subscription charges and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for cash.

Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. If a prize becomes unavailable due to circumstances outside our reasonable control, we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

7. Winner selection

Winners will be selected at random from all valid entries within 6 days of the Closing Date, using a verifiably random process. One entry will be drawn for the Grand Prize and 25 further entries for the runner-up prizes, together with five reserve entries drawn in order. If any prizes remain unawarded after the reserve entries are exhausted, we may conduct further random draws from the remaining valid entries until all prizes have been awarded. We will keep a record of each draw for audit purposes. Our decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into, save that this does not affect your legal rights.

8. Winner notification and prize claims

Winners will be notified by email to the address associated with their CompsPilot account within 3 days of the draw. We will send at least one reminder email before the claim period expires and, where available, display an in-app notification. Winner notifications are service messages, not marketing. Winners must respond and claim their prize within 14 days of the initial notification email. If a winner does not respond within that period, or is found not to meet the eligibility requirements, we reserve the right to disqualify them and award the prize to the next available reserve entrant in the order drawn.

We may require winners to provide reasonable proof of identity, age and residency before a prize is awarded. When claiming a prize, winners will also be asked to provide their full name and county of residence, which we use for the winner announcement described in section 9. Prizes will be provided within 7 days of a winner's valid claim being confirmed.

9. Announcement of winners

The outcome of the Promotion will be announced on the CompsPilot website and/or our social media channels after the Closing Date. In accordance with the CAP Code, we will publish or make available on request the surname and county of the Grand Prize winner. Runner-up winners will be announced by first name and county only, and only where they consent.

If you object to information about you being published or made available, or would like the amount of information published to be reduced, please contact us at support@compspilot.co.uk at any time before publication, including when claiming your prize. In such circumstances, we must still provide the Grand Prize winner's surname and county to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

10. Data protection

The Promoter is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Promotion. When you enter, we record your entry details (including the time of entry and your answer to the competition question), your account details, and — where available and permitted by your cookie and analytics choices — information about how you arrived at the Promotion page (such as a referral source). We use this information to administer the Promotion and to analyse the effectiveness of our launch campaign.

Our lawful basis for administering your entry, the draw and prize fulfilment is performance of the agreement represented by these Terms. Our lawful basis for campaign analysis and fraud prevention is our legitimate interests in understanding the performance of the Promotion and protecting it from abuse.

Entry records for unsuccessful entrants are deleted or anonymised within 6 months of the Closing Date. Winner and prize-fulfilment records are kept for 6 years in line with our billing and legal obligations. Records relating to suspected fraud or duplicate entries are kept for 12 months. We may retain anonymised campaign statistics indefinitely. For full details of how we handle personal data, including your rights, see our Privacy Policy (https://compspilot.co.uk/privacy).

11. General

  • We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who breaches these Terms or who we reasonably believe has entered fraudulently, including through multiple or automated accounts.
  • If circumstances outside our reasonable control make it necessary, we may cancel, suspend or amend the Promotion or these Terms. We will only do so where unavoidable, and we will seek to minimise any disadvantage to entrants, including by giving notice on the Promotion page. If the Promotion is cancelled after valid entries have been received, we will, where reasonably practicable and lawful, still conduct the draw among the valid entries received before cancellation.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in your local courts, and you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections that apply under the law of your place of residence; otherwise, disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
